Whispers at Night-Srishti
“Saumya, wake up!” Shouted her mother Ginny with an angry face as she was leaning forward. She continued, “it’s 12:30 already!” On hearing that voice she quickly got up from the bed and looked at her grumpy mom. Before her mother would say another word, Saumya was off to the washroom. Bathed, tidy and fresh she returned to the breakfast table. While having her grub, “umm…. Yummy sandwiches, and with sauce too!”, she remarked.
It’s been a lazy day and late start for Saumya. All afternoon she switched between her keyboard and unfinished artifacts. In the evening she attended her favorite pal. They kept playing the board games, singing songs, solving puzzles, cracking jokes and doing all kind of stupid stuff.
After dinner, Saumya was desperately looking for her “Night Time Companion”, her doll, whom she would cuddle and go to sleep with every night. She couldn’t find it anywhere in the house, so she went outside. As she stepped outside the house she heard the strange hissing noise. She told herself these are called the “whispers at night” and added “grandma was right’. Scared enough, she rushed inside, but she had to find her doll and take the challenge of braving the whispers. This time when she went out, though she heard the same sounds, she could also see a shadow. As she turned around, “Boo!” it was her neighbor’s cat. “so silly I am!” Saumya talked to herself.
