She is married to BJP now, which is lead by Jai Ram Thakur in the state.BJP led government is obsessed with the thought that to mark their stamp, a name change is mandatory. Making the most of their five-year tenure in Himachal, they wish to patent a book of development into their favor with their flavors.
The research work and logic which have gone into floating the proposal of the name change is incredible. The government has not only worked hard on getting to the roots of history but also have tried to hit the emotional cord by bringing in the story of Devi Shyamla pointing out the way Britishers miss pronounced her name.

Shimla to Shyamla seems like a never-ending fight of possession. It can be called shyamla or Shimla but it will always remain the queen of hills.The hills with dominant green and not saffron.
