The Drone Adventure by Srishti [caption id="attachment_852" align="alignright" width="268"] The Drone Adventure by Srishti[/caption]
It all started with my longing for a toy drone. It was not an easy deal to crack. My mom is really tough when it comes to investing in toys. Constant buttering, emotional blackmailing, promises to fulfill many of her wishes and formulating hard resolution proved a waste. It had been quite a few months since I was clamoring for this thing. Sensing my relentlessness my mom settled on the “drone” for my birthday gift.
Two three days ahead of my birthday, I bought a drone from Hamley’s and when I opened it, my mother, my brother and I went to the park to fly the drone. My brother was controlling it. But, he flew it so high even taller than Burj Khalifa!!
You know, what just happened?? The drone lost connection with the remote control! And, it melted into thin air. We had no clues of the drone. Big B stood there with a nervous face for having lost my “hard-earned” birthday gift. I didn’t know how to respond because I was still positive about finding it. Mom frowned for a while, but soon she crossed the hedges and went a bit deeper in the bushes. Inspired, my brother followed her but I was commanded to stay in the clearing only, which I reluctantly obeyed. Big B tried the remote several times and could hear very low rumbling sounds in the thick bush nearby. To my awe, they were on an interesting adventure braving the thorns, itchy shrubs, probably snakes (I suspected them to be in the creepy place, don’t know whether they really housed there??). My mother and brother followed the vague sounds coming somewhere from the shrubs. And, at this time, my brother had a chance to scare and fool us. He made a silly face and discouraged my mother’s further investigations. Mom knew it was the drone but she also joined in the game. Finally, the drone remerged from the bushes in my mother’s hand. We all were overjoyed, chiefly for getting the toy back, partly for the adventure and for being lucky not to come across any snakes!! Triumphant, giggling and laughing we headed back to home. But, after that, we never ever dared to fly it that high!
