  Researchers are of the view that the tea bush can help fight environmental pollution in a big way. This is over and above providing the aromatic and taste bud ticking beverage. This tea provides an X-factor to the state, Himachal Pradesh with an auxiliary recognition. It makes a significant contribution to the environment. The tea bush has impenetrable roots which are known to cut down the side effect of harsh rains. Palampur receives heavy rains, the silt erosion capsizes numerous small and medium hydro projects functional in the vicinity. The soil erosion in the tea gardens is insignificant, credit the strong roots of the tea bushes. The researchers are of the belief that the government should grant the permission of spreading the tea bushes into the forest land with collaboration of the forest department. This will perk the tea cultivation as well as support the environment.This  request has been raised intermittently by the officials of the tea board.Dr. DS Kanwar, coordinator and technical officer(Tea), department of agriculture Himachal Pradesh said, The Kangra Tea is a world class product. There is no other crop in the region which gives a minimum of 32 harvests in a year. The tea plant attains a flush every 10 days.” Palampur is a synonym to the tea it produces. It is classified as the Kangra Tea. The quality of this tea has impressed and ruled the international markets. It is a novelty which also became a part of the assemblage of the gifts presented to the President of America, Donald Trump by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi while visiting America. The beautiful Palampur Valley is an abode to the health ardents. The surrounding Dhauladhars provide a feast to the naked eye. The Lilliputian tea bushes release oxygen at the lower level in the atmosphere making the air quality lusty and hearty.  Kangra tea has a strong  flavor and  taste. This flavor makes it a beetle among the competitors. The tea grown here is of a Chinese hybrid quality. This quality gives it a pale liquor flavour. It has always been in the novelty list for the tea lovers in India and abroad. In the 1880’s it received the gold and the silver medals at international conventions held in London and Amsterdam. Palampur cultivates both black and green tea. The major output is that of the black tea which constitutes 90% of the total produce. The Palampur tea has a dedicated audience.”I have been drinking the Palampur tea for 30 years now. As a government employee, I was always stationed out of Palampur in different states but I could not convince my taste buds for a different flavor other than the Palampur tea. I made sure the first produce of April to May reaches where ever I am by a courier, ” said Jagat Ram, a retired government official who hails from Palampur.
