PGIMER at present elderly patients are managed by various departments including Internal Medicine,Surgery,Orthopaedics,Cardiology,Radiology,Psychiatry, Gastroenterology,Otolaryngology,Ophthalmology,Gynaecology and ,Radiotherapy etc.. There are no dedicated beds for them.With an increase in life expectancy of Indian population, the number of elderly patients attending PGI and other and other medical institutions is also on the increase. This will be a boon for senior citizens requiring hospitalization and will provide state -of -art tertiary care medical services.
