Therefore, it is imperative to know about it.  The 84-year-old premier central banking institution of India has served as the national bank of two more countries before it became the central nationalized bank of India. It was the central bank of Pakistan till 1948 and Burma till the year 1947. Established on the recommendation of Hilton Young Commission, its logo is inspired by the East India Company which is ’two mohurs’. RBI  is all about printing money, but it is only about currency notes. The minting of coins is done by the government of India. unlike other organizations, Reserve Bank Of India does not have second class employees. It only has the first, third and the fourth class employees. Its 29 branches are mostly located in the state capitals. It is a non-commercial bank which has also launched a website that is  www.paisaboltahai.rbi.org.in. to spread awareness among masses about fake notes. The  Mumbai central office of the main banking institution is home to the monetary museum. The first Indian to introduce his administrative skills as the governor to this bank was C.D.Deshmukh.Though he became the third governor of RBI. It can issue as much currency notes as the country requires. But the government has to provide a security deposit for it which is Rs 200 crores. This is divided into 115 crores in gold and 85 crores of forex reserves. himachalwire.in spoke with a retired RBI employee who walked us through the most secured corridors of the banking sector. It was working with an institution par preeminence. It was the Reserve Bank Of India(RBI). The philosophy of making employees its assets is a reality there.  I am a retired DGM from the RBI but still feel as vital and meaningful as I was in attendance with the bank”, said Balvinder Singh. ”Having served for  25 years, I can say that, I have been a part of an impressive establishment which has a positive competition balanced with the brotherhood amongst its employees. I have served the Indian Army before I joined the RBI. That was a beautiful chapter of my life. There we say, a bullet is shot once. Either your enemy dies or the enemy kills you. It is a different world. Therefore, to step into a civil life I did have a handful of learning as well as unlearning to be done. But fortunately for me, working with the RBI was a cake walk. The premier institution lives up to the standard it has set. I was worried after I was transferred to Mumbai. For it is a costly city. But RBI guards the comfort of its employees as it does the currency of the country. I was handed over the key to my apartment the very next day of the joining. We have the best accommodations in the plush areas of the state capitals. It is a world-class institution where we believe that security should be felt rather than seen. I would say, working with RBI has been an experience which still carries on in my life. I am retired now. We are still invited to their functions. It feels taken care off like someone is there for you always”, shared Singh.]]>
