Repeated school bus accidents are affecting the trust bond between the student and the educational institutions. Traveling to school by bus is a necessity for the majority of students of the hill state. A quality education can not compromise the safety of students. There should be strict rules for school transportation. The quality of the machinery in use should be checked in every quarter. A speed limit of 40 km per hour should be kept for the school buses. It is also suggested that every school should keep a complaint box. This should be used to drop written complaints by the school students about any carelessness observed in bus driver’s behavior while driving. The students should be allowed to drop a complaint without mentioning their names. Strict cognizance should be taken of each complaint. Children are the responsibility of the society. Any individual after noticing a rashly driven school bus must make a complaint to the school authorities. This should be irrespective of whether his/her child studies in the particular school or not.
