Amidst tight security, the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Himachal Pradesh for a two-day trip starting October 29,2018.”The paragliding world cup 2018 which is being held at Bir Billing will be halted on October 29,2018, due to security reasons, informed himachalwire, Baijnath Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vikas Shukla.
The Indian President will confer degrees to the students of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College(RPGMC) Tanda at Kangra in Himachal Pradesh on October 29,2018. It is the first convocation in TANDA medical college.
TANDA medical college is the maternity hospital for two districts Kangra and Chamba.
The planned visit of the President has given the Himachali’s a ray of hope. Hoping for a better and upgraded treatment in its maternity ward, people are happy to welcome the President.”We do not need new buildings and new machines. If the present system is maintained well, many problems will be sorted, ” said an attendant with a patient.”I am pregnant, most of the pregnant ladies sleep on the floor before the delivery. If the delivery is a C section, then we are given a bed to ourself. If the delivery is normal, two new mothers with their newborns share the bed,” told a would-be a mother.
