Himachal Pradesh known as #Devbhoomi saw the most destructive monsoon spell. It had not seen anything close to it in the last half a century. Hence, we did not have accounts to relate to and comprehend from. It was like being in the epicentre of a war zone. A shell was replaced by the weighty raindrops that hit the fertile and satiny soil of Himachal Pradesh. Similarly, the bombs were the ‘Cloud Bursts’.The splinters of cloud burst, wreaked havoc in Devbhoomi.
Astounding marks of beauty stood soaring with supreme grace, became the oversized danger in Shimla. Deodars spooked and at many places razed the houses to the ground.
Hills are sensitive. So, are the people of the hills. Both were terrified and heartbroken. The questions and prayers clashed and reduced the pace they could have travelled to almighty.
Himachal Pradesh recorded a blunt upsurge in anxiety levels. The tip-tip of rain was no longer melodious. The smell of petrichor was substituted by the terror of freshly sliding hills. Rain brought with it drama. The dialogues were written with barks of trees and the special effects echoed in the form of nature’s devastation.
We were cracked. So, were our roads, railway lines and facilities. But welcome to our stronger side. Just a month away from the worst we saw, we are hosting the #ODIcricketworlcup2023 in #Dharamshala. Our #UNESCO recognized heritage railway line is conveniently taking the train to and fro. The #VOLVO is reaching #Manali with tourists. Not only this the internal connectivity is also back.
Most incredible of all is that the credit belongs to both the ruling party as well as the opposition.#Congress and #BJP pulled the show jointly. Efforts were persistent and belligerent. They fought as per the tradition but as #himachalies all the leaders stood firm with the people. Collective efforts brought the best and soon.
#HimachalPradesh is ambling its way towards more sustainable survival approaches. This was the need of the hour . But we chose the bright, gaudy and leisurely roadway. Hope is high and so are the needs. Let us see which way we proceed.
